A combined examination is held by the UPSC once a year in the month of January/February for recruitment to the services and posts mentioned below:
(i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways.
(ii) Junior Scale Posts in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service.
(iii) Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services.
(iv) Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
(v) Geneal Duty Medical Officers in the New Delhi Municipal Council.
Nationality
Indian Nationals as defined in the Constitution.
Age limit
Below 32 years as on January 1 of the year of examination, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Upper age limit is relaxable for certain other categories of persons as may from time to time be notified by the Govt. of India
Minimum Educational Qualification
For admission to the examination candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination.
NOTE I : A candidate who has appeared/or has yet to appear at the final MBBS Examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination if otherwise eligible, but the admission would be deemed to be provisional subject to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination along with the detailed application which will be required to be submitted to the Commission by the candidates who qualify on the result of the written part of the examination.
NOTE II : A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selection he will be appointed only after he has completed the compulsory rotating internship.
Examination Fee
Rs 100/-. No fee for SC/ST. Payment must be made through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps or Crossed Bank Draft from any branch of SBI payable to the Secretary, UPSC at New Delhi of through Crossed IPOs payable to the Secretary, UPSC at New Delhi GPO.
