Physical Standards
(i) Height : Minimum 157 cms, may be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese (including those from Nagaland, Mizorarn, Meghalaya, Arurtachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura), Garhwalese, Sikkimese, local tribals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and by 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadives, Mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar and candidates joining the Coast Guard on secondment from other Government departments;
(ii) Chest : Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms;
(iii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age (+10 per cent acceptable); (iv) Eye Sight: General Duty 6/6 (Good eye) and 6/9 (Bad eye); Domestic Branch 6/18 (Good eye) and 6/36 (Baa eye). Candidates using glasses are not eligible for GD Branch.
How to Apply
Application on plain paper in the format published in the Newspapers/Employment News, Usually in the months of January and June should be submitted to the Commander, Coast Guard Region where the candidate is residing Details regarding Region/Zone are given in the advertisement.
Other Information
Shortlisted candidates will be called for selection tests interview within reasonable time at convenient Centres. The place and date of test will be intimated to candidates through call-up letters. Selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in Written Examination and Interview by the Selection Board. Candidates have to undergo initial Medical Examination of the Board.
