Male Indian citizens are offered this opportunity to become a Class I Gazetted Officer as Assistant Commandant (General Duty) in the Armed Force of the Union. The recruitment is done twice every year for courses beginning in the months of January/February and July.

Age limit
21 to 25 years as on July I of the year of admission (30 years for SC/ ST). Ex-Servicemen are eligible for relaxation of upper age limit as admissible.

Minimum Educational Qualification
Degree with Mathematics and Physics as subjects upto Intermediate or class XII of 10 + 2 + 3 scheme.

Physical Standards
Same as for Assistant Commandant (Technical) except eye sight: 6/6 (good eye) and 6/9 (bad eye) without glasses.

Same as for Assistant Commandant (Technical).

Other Information
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Selection Test/ Interview at Mumbai, Chennai, Calcutta or New Delhi. Candidates attainments in academics, sports and NCC will be given due weightage whilst shortlisting the candidates. The date of entrance test will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates through call-up letters. The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years or till completion of training whichever is later.
