Special physical standards have been fixed for certain other class/regiment/tribes and categories.
How to Apply
Blank application forms are available free of cost at local recruiting offices, District Collector's Office, Zila Parishad and Employment Exchanges. Candidates can apply on a plain sheet of paper handwritten/typed as per format. Applications duly filled are required to be forwarded to the Zonal Recruiting Offices of the State to which the candidate belongs and accompanied by one self-addressed stamped envelope. Candidates for Havi1dar Education category need not apply to Zonal Recruiting Offices but should contact nearest Recruiting Office for further details.
Other Information
Applications will be scrutinised by the recruiting staff of Zonal Recruiting Office and shortlisted based on education, age, height, NCC certificates, etc. Candidates thus selected will be issued call-up letters for Screening Medical and Physical Fitness Tests, Written Tests and Final Selection at the give date and venue. Applications of sons of Servicemen/Ex-servicemen, ITI and NCC 'C'certificate holders will not be shortlisted and all such candidates will be call up for Screening. Final selection will be on merit.
Pay and Allowances :
A sepoy gets a starting pay, depending on the group he belongs to, plus DA and other allowances as admissible to the Central Govt employees. Gross salary will be depending upon the category he belongs to.
Financial Benefits :
(a) Insurance cover of Rs I ,50,000;
(b) Disability Benefits- 50 per cent of the sum assured at 100 per cent disability as per eligibility;
(c) Maturity benefits with interest- Total contribution plus interest;
(d) Extended Insurance of Rs 50, 000 on retirement for eligible categories for 15 years or till the date of 70 years, whichever is earlier, by paying a single non-refundable subscription;
(e) Provident fund and gratuity on retirement. Encashment ofunavailed leave portion of Annual Leave upto 180 days.
Leave : 60 days annual leave and 30 days casual leave with travel concession for self, family and dependents (Parents, unmarried brothers and sisters) besides sick/ medical leave.
