Applications are invited from civilian doctors holding MBBS.Degree in. First or Second attempt for Direct Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission In the Anny Medical Corps as Medical Officers. Serving SSC officers are also eligible to apply provided they fulfil all the conditions.
Must be a citizen of India or a subject of Bhutan/Nepal or Sri Lanka East African Countries with intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit (As on Dec 31 of the year of examination): The maximum age limit for grant of D PC is 30 years for medical graduates, 31 years for those possessing PO Diploma and 32 years for those possessing PO Degree. The maximum age limit for grant of SSC is 45 years.
Minimum Educational Qualification
A candidate must
(a) possess a medical qualification included in First/Second schedule or Part II of the Third schedule of the IMC Act 1958;
(b) be registered on any State Medical Register.
How to Apply
Candidates should apply to the Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services/Do-IA. Ministry ofDefence, 'L' Block, New Delhi-ll000l along with the required particulars as may be stated in the advertisements for the same in Leading Newspapers.

Agra, Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal,Mumbai, Cochin, Chandigarh, Calcutta, Cuttack, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Lucknow, Chennai, Pune, Secunderabad, Trivandrum.
An objective type of written examination covering General Medicine, General Surgery, Social and Preventive Medicine, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and Personality Assessment test will be held. Required number of qualified candidates as per the merit list will be called for interview at New Delhi.
(1) The PO Degree holders are not required to take the written examination but will be called to appear for an interview provided documentary proof for passing PO examination is submitted. However, PO Diploma holders will be required to take the written examination as applicable to MBBS Degree holders;
(2) Only limited vacancies are available for lady doctors.
Promotion Aspects :
Civilian doctors on Commission in the Anny Medical Corps during their internship training will be granted the rank of Lieutenant and those with Permanent Medical Registration Certificate will be appointed as Captain.
Promotion is time scale upto the rank of Lt-Colonel and thereafter by selection upto the rank of Lt-General for the Permanent Commissioned Officers. Short Service Commissioned Officers are eligible for promotion upto the rank of Major only. (Information compiled from Vidyapatha.com)
