Applications are invited from unmauied male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for the courses commencing in the months ofMay and October/November.

Age limit
19 to 25 years as on January/July I of the year of examination.

Minimum Educational Qualification
(a) Graduate with an aggregate of 50% marks.
(b) Service in NCC : should have served for minimum 2 academic years in the Senior Division of Army Wing of NCC.
(c) Grading : Should have obtained minimum of 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam.

Details Regarding Selection Procedure

Physical Standards
Height and Weight : Minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms and weight 48 kgs. Relaxations applicable as per rules. Visual Standards: Minimum acceptable visual acuity are : Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, myopia of not more than minus 3.5 D including astigmatism. Person should be in good physical and mental health.

How to Apply
Apply in the prescribed format along with required documents as and when published in Leading Newspapers/Employment News usually in the months of March/April and August/September.

Other Information
All applications are forwarded to Rtg Dte (NCC Entry) through the respective DDG, NCC of the State. Shortlisted candidates will be detailed for SSB interviews by Addl DG Rtg (at the SSB). At the Selection Centre the candidates will be administered a Screening Test. Those who qualify will undergo Group Test, Psychological Test and Interview which may extend for a period of 5 days. Candidates recommended by SSB will be required to appear for Medical Examination before a (Special Medical Board) SMB.

Training :
Approximately 9 months training a OTA, Chennai. On successful completion of training candidates will be granted commission in the rank of Lt. The final allocation of Arms/Services will be made prior to passing out of Cadets from OTA. (Information compiled from Vidyapatha.com)
