Age limit
Between 18 to 23 years. Age limit for candidates serving in the recognised Fire Services is 27 years (upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST).
Minimum Educational Qualification
HSSC (10+2) or its equivalent preferably with science Subjects for all. Shall have ability to read, write, speak and follow instructions both in English and Hindi.

Physical Standards
Height : Not less than 165 cms (160 cms for candidates belonging to the hilly races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Assamese, Nagaland Tribe, etc.)
Weight : Not less than 50 kgs.
Chest : Not less than 81 cms (normal) with minimum expansion of 5 cms.
How to Apply
The candidates should contact "The Director, National Fire Service College, Nagpur-440001 Maharashtra" only when the Admission Notice is issued, generally in the month of June/July.
Other Information
The Examination will be in two sessions, on the same day, covering General English and General Knowledge in the first session and General Science and Maths in the second session. The duration of the Course is of 33 weeks out of which 21 weeks will be at the College and in addition 12 weeks as honorary extended period of Practical Attachment at major fire Stations in country, as may be decided by the College. The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi and English), of objective type and of the level of Higher Secondary (10 + 2).
