Basic Information regarding Exam

SAIL offers career opportunities as Management Trainees (Administration) in front line executive positions in key performance areas - such as Personnel, Marketing, Materials, Administration, Public Relation etc., and Management Trainees (Technical) in Key departments such as Coke Ovens, Blast Furnaces, Steel Melting Shops Maintenance, Captive Power Plants, Energy Management, Production Planning, Marketing, Materials, Captive Mines, etc., in various plants, units/mines.

Age limit
20 to 30 years of age as on the given date. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Minimum Educational Qualification
For MT(A) : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Arts/Science/Comrnerce/Business Management/ Administration/Law or equivalent with minimum 60 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST).

For MT(T) : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Metallurgical/Chemical/ Electronics and Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Computer Science or Technology or Applications) or MCA with 65% marks (50% for SC/ST).

Other Releated Information Regarding Eligibility Conditions
MEDICAL STANDARDS :
Weight : 45 kg; and Heigh t: 150 cms for both MT(A) and MT(T); Myopia and Hypermetropia, if any not to exceed +6.00 or -8.00 in each eye for MT(A) and +4.00 in each eye for MT(T). There should be no squint or colour blindness. Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates.

Plan of Examination

General Note about Examination Scheme
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an objective type written examination. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be required to appear for group discussion/Interview. SC/ ST candidates will be given relaxation by 10 per cent of the prescribed qualifying level for Written Test, group discussion/interview. Selected candidates will be on training for one year duration as apprentices.

How to Apply
Applications duly filled on the prescribed format must be accompanied with a Crossed Demand Draft for required amount payable to Steel Authority of India Limited, New Delhi and drawn on State Bank of India, Service Branch, New Delhi (Code No.7687) and mailed as per the specified instructions advertised in the Newspapers.
