Basic Information regarding Exam

Applications are invited from unmarried girls of Indian nationality to fill existing vacancies and to maintain a wait-list for future requirements of Air Hostesses (AH) and Assistant flight Purser (AFP).

Age limit
Candidate should have completed 18 years of age but should be below 25 years for AH and 26 years for AFP (5% relaxation for SC/ST).

Minimum Educational Qualification
Graduate from a recognised University OR SSC with 3 years's diploma in Catering from a recognised Institute OR SSC with proficiency in one or more foreign languages viz. Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Persian (or any other language as may be mentioned) having undergone a diploma/certificate course for a minimum period of 18 months from a recognised Institution.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Should be able to converse fluently in English and Knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

General Note about Examination Scheme
All applicants will have to appear for an Objective Type Written Examination (bilingual -English and Hindi). Those who qualify will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at one of the test Centres in Mumbai, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Trivandrum. The Written Test would be in English. Those who qualify will be shortlisted and subject to medical fitness as per the standards prescribed by the Corporation, will be considered for appointment. Initial appointment will be as Trainee Air Hostess for six months for, AH and as Trainee Assistant Flight Purser for AFP.

Details Regarding Selection Procedure

Physical Standards
Height and Weight: Minimum height should be 157.5 cms for AH and 165 cms for AFP (barefeet) with weight in proportion as per the Corporation's chart. Vision: Normal eyesight without glasses or minimum uncorrected distant vision should be 6/24 in each eye correctable to 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other eye i.e. upto a maximum power as prescribed in the Corporation's Medical standards.
