New Delhi: Retail inflation rose to 10.03 percent in August as against 9.86 percent in July, as per the government data released on Tuesday.Based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the inflation rates for rural and urban areas for August 2012 stood at 9.90 percent and 10.19 percent respectively.According to the revised data, the inflation rates for rural and urban areas for July 2012 were at 9.76 percent and 10.10 percent respectively.The All-India CPI is in addition to the three retail price indices -- for agricultural labourers, rural labourers and industrial workers -- prepared by the Ministry of Labour.
