More CBI raids in Jharkhand horse trading case

Ranchi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at six locations in the state on Wednesday in connection with the horse-trading and exchange of money for votes that prompted the Election Commission to countermand the March 30 Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand.

Among the places raided today in Ranchi and other cities are the residences of two Independent MLAs. The CBI had last month conducted raids on over 15 MLAs in connection with the case.

The investigating agency appears all set to file the chargesheet within the stipulated three months.

Rs 2.15 crore in cash was seized from a car owned by the brother of an independent Rajya Sabha candidate, hours before the start of RS polling in Ranchi.
