New Delhi : Top political leaders of the Delhi government met on Friday morning to discuss the impending issue of regularisation of the unauthorised colonies in Delhi.

According to sources, the Union and the state governments will jointly apprise, and request the high court to ensure removing any "last hurdles" to the regularisation process. A Delhi minister, on condition of anonymity, said: "CM Sheila Dikshit will also meet the Union urban development minister Kamal Nath to discuss the issue."

"The cabinet needed some final clarity on the legal requirements before the announcement, some quarters within the government pointed to the need of involving the High Court before any such decision - and now we are in the process of resolving these final details," a senior official said.
