The maximum temperatures are above normal by 4-8°C over most parts of Rajasthan and Western Himalayan region. They are above normal by 3-6°C over many parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and east & northeast India and some parts of Vidarbha, west Uttar Pradesh and east and west coasts.

Maximum temperatures of 40°C and above are recorded at isolated places over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Vidarbha and Telengana.

The Highest maximum temperature of 40.7°C was recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan)

Strong northwesterly/westerly winds are prevailing over Indo-Gangetic plains in the lower levels.

Wind confluence occurring over north peninsular India..

A Cyclonic circulation likely over Orissa and adjoining Chhattisgarh in lower levels on 16th and 17th.

KALPANA–1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows low/medium clouds over parts of Western Himalayan regions, Punjab, Maharashtra, Orissa, peninsular & northeast India, Bay of Bengal and Arabian sea.

Outlook for subsequent twos days based on NCMRWF and other numerical weather products :

Isolated rain/ thundershowers may occur over Orissa and parts of Peninsular India.

Dry weather conditions will prevail over remaining parts of the country.

Warning : Cold day conditions may occur over parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during next 1-2 days.
